Taking a rather ambitious approach to the god of thunder, THE GOD BUTCHER follows not just the Thor that most people are already familiar with, the one in the present-day Marvel Universe, but also the Thor of over 1,000 years ago and the Thor of the distant future. The series weaves the stories of these three Thors together, creating the epic of Gorr, the God Butcher, and his quest to end divinity.

Team-ups are a time-honored comics tradition. Get the superheroes together, have them slug it out, and then have them unite against a common enemy. It’s simple enough, and it’s been fueling comics “events” for decades. Avengers vs. X-Men is one of the latest.

by Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo

After the events of Schism, the X-Men are divided and a new direction is called for—at least in part. Wolverine takes over the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, welcoming a new team of mutants and training them in their incredible abilities, while also fighting some new and old villains.
